Working Together to Improve the Most Challenged Secondary Schools

Seeking 20 Districts!

Do you have a high-needs CSI middle or high school?

  • If so, you face one of the toughest school improvement challenges in the US.
  • ESSA requires you to apply evidence-based strategies against assessed needs.
  • Secondary school reform is complex, dynamic, and requires changes in adult behavior.
  • Reforming high-needs secondary schools alone is difficult.
  • Talent Development Secondary (TDS), AASA and the Everyone Graduates Center (EGC) are looking for superintendents and principals who want to improve together.
  • We are forming a network of CSI secondary schools from 20 districts across the nation.
  • These districts and their CSI schools will take on this difficult challenge together, share the work, learn from each other, and benefit from the support of these expert partners.

What the Networked Improvement Community will provide:

  • AASA will link you together for three years with fellow superintendents facing similar challenges, including at an annual preconference before its national meeting.
  • TDS will provide three years of direct support to implement a comprehensive, evidence-based improvement plan including instructional, organizational, professional development, school climate, and post-secondary preparation components – all tailored to local circumstances.
  • Build on what you have; add what you need; at a pace that works for you.
  • EGC will provide and help you analyze formative performance data so you will know if the CSI schools are on-track to improvement.
  • AASA, TDS, and EGC along with the 20 superintendents and principals will form a networked improvement community (NIC) so we can share the work, learn together and get better faster!

What interested districts and schools must do to join:

  • First, learn more about the effort by checking out recordings of our webinar series here
  • Next, confirm that your CSI school improvement plan is aligned or could be aligned with the evidence-based framework, staffing requirements and the network participation costs described in this presentation
  • Finally, fill out a short application here, and we will let you know in two weeks of submitting if you have been selected.

Participation is limited to first 20 interested districts who meet the application criteria.

We’d love to talk with you about this!
